What to Expect

1. Check in at the Fathom Five shop at 3450 Poipu Rd, Koloa, at 7:30 am or 12:45 pm with your certification card.
2. Staff give an orientation covering safety, hand signals and the habits of the marine life you are likely to see.
3. You drive yourself the short distance to Koloa Landing, where a 2012 reviewer says the shop had a tarp, chairs and snacks set up.
4. Entry is down a metal boat ramp into a protected cove, followed by a short surface swim to the reef.
5. The first guided dive runs about 50–60 minutes to a maximum of roughly 45 ft, according to a December 2012 report.
6. After a surface interval with snacks and juices, 2-tank bookings make a second dive of similar length at the same site.
7. There are no showers or rinse tank at the landing, so you leave in wet gear; the 2-tank version ends about 4.5 hours after check-in.
