Overview

Three Tiki Sailing's Waikiki sunset sail is a 2-hour BYOB cruise on the 45-passenger trimaran Hokulani from Ala Wai Harbor, with a swim stop off Diamond Head when conditions allow and a 4.9 Google rating from 790 reviews. It suits couples and families who want a cheap, relaxed sunset at $79 per adult. The drawback: swim and sailing depend on wind.

Highlights

  • $79 adult and $69 child on the operator's site; $92.83 adult, $81.46 child and $2 infant on Greetwell, as of October 2026.
  • BYOB: bring canned alcoholic or soft drinks; the crew supplies a large iced cooler and bottled water.
  • Swim stop in open water off Diamond Head when the captain judges it safe; no snorkel gear is provided on this cruise.
  • On Fridays the departure runs an hour later and the swim is replaced by the Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks.
  • Trimaran has about 300 sq ft of shade, two netted lounging areas, onboard restrooms and a 1,500-watt sound system.

What to Expect

  1. You check in at Three Tiki Sailing's booth at 95 Holomoana St next to the Prince Waikiki, 20 minutes before departure, with photo ID and your own canned drinks.
  2. The crew escorts the group from check-in to the Hokulani, where you go barefoot and stow drinks in the iced cooler.
  3. The boat motors or sails out along the Waikiki shoreline toward Diamond Head, with music playing and shaded seating or nets to choose from.
  4. If the ocean is calm the captain stops for an open-water swim off Diamond Head; drinking alcohol before swimming is not allowed.
  5. The return leg runs along the coast as the sun sets behind the Waikiki skyline, arriving back at the harbor about 2 hours after departure.
  6. On Friday sailings there is no swim stop; the boat positions off Waikiki for the fireworks instead.
