Overview

The Hawaii Ocean Charters Waikiki private catamaran charter puts up to 6 guests on the 30-foot catamaran Keanuenue from Kewalo Basin for 2 to 4 hours of cruising, a reef snorkel off Diamond Head and BYOB drinks. It suits small groups wanting the boat to themselves at $686 to $1,500. The drawback is the 6-person cap and strict change fees.

Highlights

  • Whole boat for 1 to 6 guests; prices per charter were $685.58 for 2 hours, $1,000.76 for 3 and $1,261.50 for 4 on VELTRA in October 2026.
  • Snorkel gear, flotation belts and vests, an in-water guide, lily pad and lounge floats, cooler, soft drinks and Bluetooth sound included (Hawaii.com listing).
  • BYOB: bring your own alcohol and snacks; spray sunscreen is banned on board.
  • Departs Kewalo Basin Harbor, Pier C slip C10, 1125 Ala Moana Blvd, a few minutes from Waikiki; parking about $1 to $2 per hour.
  • Rated 5.0 from 371 reviews on Hawaii.com and 10/10 on Expedia as of October 2026.

What to Expect

  1. You arrive at the Pier C gate at Kewalo Basin 15 minutes early (30 minutes if parking), and the crew walks you to slip C10 about 5 minutes before departure.
  2. The captain briefs the group and plugs in your playlist on the Bluetooth system while drinks go into the iced cooler.
  3. The catamaran motors along the Waikiki shoreline toward Diamond Head, stopping for turtles, dolphins or whales if they appear.
  4. At an offshore reef the boat anchors and the guide enters the water with you for snorkeling; floats and the lily pad are put out for non-swimmers.
  5. You rinse at the fresh-water shower and use the marine restroom on board before the cruise back.
  6. On the sunset version the 5:00 PM departure (Expedia) returns after sunset; daytime charters return after 2, 3 or 4 hours as booked.
