Overview

Manta Magic is Hawaii Oceanic’s Kona manta ray night snorkel from Keauhou Harbor: a 50-minute trip where guests float at a lighted board while mantas feed below, with snorkel, mask, optional wetsuit and soft drinks included. It suits swimmers aged 7 to 70 who want a quick manta encounter. The drawback: no price or cancellation terms were published.

Highlights

  • Night snorkel beside a light board that draws feeding manta rays, ending under the night sky with a chance of the Milky Way (Hawaii.com listing).
  • Snorkel, mask, an optional wetsuit and non-alcoholic drinks included.
  • Departs Keauhou Harbor, 78-7138 Kaleiopapa St, with check-in 30 minutes before departure.
  • Open to ages 7 to 70; the operator's daytime snorkel sets a 270-pound limit and a no-flotation swim test, so expect similar rules.
  • Hawaii Oceanic is rated 4.8 from 349 reviews on Hawaii.com and 4.8 from 448 on Greetwell as of October 2026.

What to Expect

  1. You check in 30 minutes before departure at Keauhou Harbor, 78-7138 Kaleiopapa St, in your swimsuit.
  2. The crew fits snorkels, masks and optional wetsuits and briefs the group on holding the light board and keeping hands to yourself.
  3. The boat makes the short run to the manta site off Keauhou Bay after dark.
  4. You float on the surface holding the lighted board while mantas loop beneath it to feed on plankton drawn by the lights.
  5. After roughly 50 minutes you climb back aboard, warm up with a soft drink and return to the harbor under the stars.
  6. One Greetwell reviewer (September 2026, 5★) counted about six mantas that came within arm's reach.
