What to Expect

1. Check in at Keauhou Harbor about 10 minutes before departure (VELTRA shows 7:50 am for the 8 am trip) and get fitted with mask, snorkel and fins.
2. The boat runs south along the Kona coast, slowing at sea caves and coves and detouring for dolphins or, in winter, whales if any are spotted.
3. You snorkel for about an hour at the site the captain picks, either the Captain Cook Monument reef in Kealakekua Bay or a quieter cove, with a guide in the water.
4. Water, juice, fruit, granola bars and cookies are served on board before the return run to Keauhou, about 2.5 hours after departure.

Restrictions and Requirements

• VELTRA listing: must know how to swim, under 275 lb, not for pregnant guests or those with back or neck problems, fit enough to climb a boat ladder, not recommended for ages 3 and under

• Not wheelchair accessible; check-in times may be moved by the operator

Cancellation Policy

The operator's tour page does not state a policy. On VELTRA, cancellations or changes made after 8 am local time 4 business days before the activity are charged 100%, and no refund is given if marine life is not seen. The operator's other listings state a full refund with 72 hours' notice and full refunds when the operator cancels for weather, boat problems or unmet minimums.
