Maui E-Mountain Bike Experience Tour at Ulupalakua Ranch
Photo: Operator
Overview
The Emountain Bike Tour Maui e-mountain bike tour is a guided off-road ride on private Ulupalakua Ranch trails above Wailea on electric mountain bikes, with helmet, pads, water and a support truck included for $260. It suits riders aged 12 and up who can handle a bicycle and want car-free trails with ocean views. Drawback: it is real off-road riding, not a paved cruise.
Highlights
- Guided ride on private Ulupalakua Ranch trails with no cars, run by bike shop owner Donnie Arnoult and guide Franck Berthuot (Greetwell, October 2026)
- Electric mountain bike sized to you, helmet, gloves, elbow and knee pads, riding backpack, water, snacks and a 4x4 support truck with spares included
- Two route options chosen after a short test ride: a relaxed route reached by a 15-minute truck ride, or an advanced climb from base camp
- $260 on the operator site, $287 on Greetwell; rated 5.0 from 31 Greetwell reviews and 5 stars from 26 Google reviews shown on the operator site
- Full refund for cancellations 48 hours or more ahead; minimum age 12
What to Expect
- You meet the guide in Maui Meadows above Wailea and drive up to the ranch base camp, where you are fitted with an e-bike, helmet, gloves and pads.
- After a pre-ride briefing you take a short test ride so the guide can judge which route suits you.
- Relaxed-route riders take a 15-minute truck ride up through the ranch before starting on easier off-road trails; advanced riders climb from base camp on steeper, rockier sections.
- Both groups meet at the truck parking area near the first scenic lookout, with views over Molokini and Kahoolawe reported by one reviewer.
- A 4x4 truck follows with spare equipment and the guide stops for photos; the ride length is set by the guide for the group.
- You return to base camp and are driven back to the meeting point; the operator does not publish the total time, which one Google reviewer called a half day.
